Download & run the disk diagnostic program that your disk
manufacturer makes available free of charge on his home
site.
If the program gives the disk a clean bill of health then I would
reload Windows 2000 from scratch. To protect yourself against
similar disasters in future, create a disk image with a suitable
program such as Acronis TrueImage.
