If this is the first time you've installed the drive, you need to partition
and format it.
Right-click My Computer
Click Manage
Storage->Disk Management
Choose the new disk from the list in the lower-right pane.
You can either right-click the disk or choose Action->All Tasks->
to partition and format the disk.
Don't forget, that if you use NTFS on this disk, only NTFS-capable OS will
be able to read it. That means you won't be able to take it to your
friend's Win98 machine and read it. If that's your intention, better to use
FAT.
