"Serial Mice users under Windows XP and 2000: MouseWare does not support any
serial pointing devices. A Logitech mouse connected to the serial port will
function with native drivers, but it will not be displayed in the MouseWare
control center and you will not be able to program the buttons."
Maybe you can find some older mouseware drivers, like 8.0 or older, but I
think this was an issue with NT/2K/XP/2K3 all along...
