Hey,
I installed Lucent orinoco wlan pcmcia-card with isa-pcmcia-adapter to
Win2k router. Computer is old 266 MHz PII with that age MB. There is
only agb-grafic gard (2d, basic) and old isa NIC and then that
pcmcia-isa-adapter and wlan card in it.
When I install isa-adapter there is no problem. Even when I first time
install drivers for Orinoco and insert card to slot it starts working.
Orinoco get's automagically irq 3 (or 7) and some i/o address when I
look system-hardware config. Wlan works well until I first time
reboot.
After reboot card does not get irq anymore, even if I cleared box 'use
automatic settings' before boot. In device manager, my orinoco lists
"code 12 - not enough free resources, try disabling other hardware".
Conflict is with system timer with irq 00, and I can't manually adjust
irq anymore. When I check there is 3,4,7,9 IRQ free since serial and
parallel ports are disabled and these NIC's are only cards in this
router. Still windows try to use irq 00, weird?
I have updated MBs bios and tried to use auto or manual irq settings
in bios pnp-settings with no help.
Please help,
Antti Raappana
