Actually, GPMC can't create RSOP results reports against Win2K--it just doesn't have the infrastructure. What you can do that gets you close is to create a RSOP Modeling report for a Win2K machine. However, because security settings have changed somewhat between Win2K and later versions that won't be entirely correct. The alternative is to just use the secedit.exe command line tool Win2k with the /export option to export current security policy settings to a file.

Hello Robert,
Will you read the policy settings from your domain? Take a XP workstation or 2003 server install GPMC and you can read all your policies.

For XP and Windows 2003 GPResult gives me a section for Account
Policies and Security Options. This allows me to grab into a text file
values like MinimumPasswordLength, etc. However, this information
seems to be missing from the W2K GPResult output. Does anyone have any
good ideas for grabbing the information that the XP or 2003 GPResult
output with 2000? Another command line tool perhaps or a patched
GPResult for W2K?
Thanks in advance,
R.
