How can I refresh the reading of registry.pol file to apply new policy
rules?
I try to install and use local policy group in a Windows XP Professional
workstation.
This workstation is in a workgroup then I use only the local policy
group for all users.
I would like to use two file .pol: one for the administrators group (I
can read CD-ROM, open explorer, close programs from toolbar...) and the
other one for the user group (in the desktop I can use only Internet
Explorer, but I can't close windows from taskbar, I can't access CD...).
The administrator set the policy that he wants executing two scripts.
I've written two registry.pol files and with 'gpupdate /force' and the
operating systems applied the right policies, using this command.
I was "administrator" when I tried to change the policies.
Today I've tried but no update. The policies remain the same.
Why did it work fine until today?
Windows XP SP2; I read KB n.293655 to know where WinXP stores the policy
file (registry.pol).
Urgent- plz ! Local Policy problem ... From what I've seen...many of the policies... yourself out of it...In Windows Explorer,... If you can't see the GroupPolicy folder in System32, ... This will prevent the Administrator account from seeing ... (microsoft.public.windowsxp.security_admin)
