Hi
I'm running on W2k Pro, standalone PC, not connected to any network and
Server.
Based on my W2k Pro OS, please advise, can I still create a Group Policy
with a higher priority in the Domain/OU or any other method to save the
default settings and the amended settings.
Not possible, in this scenario.
I never tested but you can test if it works...
1-What you can do is to backup the "%systemroot%\system32\grouppolicy"
folder.
2-Then make a few changes, reboot the computer and check if they're working.
3-If yes then check the version number in
%systemroot%\system32\grouppolicy\gpt.ini
4-Then replace the files with the bacup that you made in the first step.
5-Increase the version number that you checked in step 3 on
%systemroot%\system32\grouppolicy\gpt.ini
6-Let me know if that worked.

I hop that helps

Also, do Windows 2000 Default Group Policy Restore Tool support W2k Pro?
Thank you very much.

Hi?
Why don't you create a Group Policy with a higer priority in the
Domain/OU
If later you want to remove the settings all you have to do is to deletethe
policy without messing with the originals.http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b5b685ae-b7dd-4bb5-ab2a-976d6873129d&displaylang=en

Thank you for your reply. Sorry, forget to state that I'm on W2k Pro. I
run
c:\winnt\system32\gpedit.msc to access the group policy. Any utility to
save
or load the default and amended gpo?
Thank you again
