Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has seen this before and how they got around it.
In my test lab, I have 2 WIndows 2000 DCs, one with the SUS server
installed, and one Windows XP workstation. I have created a group policy
for SUS at the OU level and set permissions for the policy to apply to a
particular security group.
The workstation exists in the OU that the policy is applied to, and is also
a member of the security group that has apply policy and read rights to the
policy.
Setting it up like this the policy does not work. The computer does not
contact the SUS server to look for updates, allthough all fields in the
Automatic Updates tab of Computer Properties are disabled - Indicating that
the policy has taken affect. GPResult indicates that the policy has been
applied.
If I edit the policy and tick the 'Do not overide' option, the policy takes
affect with the workstation downloading all policies.
There are no other policies defined in the domain, with the exception of
the default policy which has no settings for SUS.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this policy is not fully working
without the 'do not overide' setting?
