Hello ThomasMc07,

The article doesn't say anything about how to restore the original OS,
applications, etc. That's what I need to do. Otherwise, there is no
reason to use the backup.
Is it possible to restore the original OS with ntbackup?

Hello ThomasMc07,
If you use a full server backup with ntbackup created you need of
course the same OS version that provides you again with ntbackup.
Check the article how to do it complete.

I'm not sure I'm following you. Are you saying that I need to
install Windows 2000 Server and then do the restore right over the
current running copy of the OS? It this possible? What about
over-writing the registry?

Hello ThomasMc07,
To use a backup with ntbackup create you have to prepare the server
with a 2000 server installation with the same SP and patch level
and also applications on it. Then the backup should not interfere
with the current setup.
