Do I understand that what you mention above involves "editing the registry" which you are "reluctant to do in view of your limited PC experience."?

If you can recommend a good book on the subject, perhaps I'll find that book and take it with me on my upcoming trip. Maybe I can learn whatever it takes to use this two minute approach to fixing the problem.
