The event log may provide some detail. Make sure the account has appropriate policy permissions on local machine such as logon as a service.

few weeks ago the services could not start under domain admin, but can under
local system. At least one cannot just leave it alone as a work around
because it uses an outlook profile on the machine and local system, I'm told,
won't work with the profile.
