Re: Backup S/W - Acronis True Image 10

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Thanks - I'll try these.

I suspected a corrupt download, so I re-downloaded - same thing happened.
1-5 were done before.

Any error messages shown in the Event logs? If so, copy and contact
Acronis
support for help.

Otherwise, I'd suspect a corrupt download. If that doesn't prove so, I'd
look
into my system as follows:

1. Is there adequate disk space? If not, remove applications that are not
used.
2. Clear out all temporary folders.
3. Defrag the HDD.
4. Run a complete system scan with a good AV app.
4. Run at least two system scans with anti-malware apps (i.e., Ad-aware &
SpyBot).
5. Make sure that the OS is up-to-date.
6. Run the SFC /scannow procedure.
See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;222471
7. Now try the Acronis install again.

| I'm running W2K Wkst w/sp4 & rollup plus all updates - Acronis 7.0 will
not

| installed because there has been an error & then says to try later.

| This action occurs with both the original & the update files.
|
| Anyone have any idea?
