Re: How to get the Rollup patch

Search on the filename Windows2000-KB891861-v2-x86-ENU.EXE and you should be able to find it somewhere else. Quite often universities and the likes store these things on their servers.

I just tried to download the W2K rollup patch for my machine already having SP4. I want to do it manually, don't like automatic install of anything.

I found the patch at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b54730cf-8850-
4531-b52b-bf28b324c662&DisplayLang=en

but MS requires validation. I have always avoided that relationship with MS. One big advantage of W2K to me was no registration like XP.

A site to download the file without validation?

BTW, Firefox worked fine to download several patches yesterday.
