The Fax Service is the last place I'd look.
Things I'd check first:
Speicial features on the line that could interfere (call waiting, etc)
Other running processes that could interfere
The modem
The phone line
Signal quality (line noise)
The sending device
The connect speed (connect at a lower speed if possible)
Determine if this problem happens with ALL incoming faxes or just faxes from
the one client.

Greetings All,getting
Have recently started using the Windows 2000 Fax Service to receive
multi-page documents faxed by a client. During the reception, we are
an error: EVENT ID: 8232 (Fax failed due to transmission error).I
I have found absolutely no support for this error on Microsoft's website.
Does anyone have any links, or knowledge of what would cause this? Should
be looking at the service or the external modem? Thoughts please.
Joel
