On my brother laptop I installed Enternet 300 so he could use my dsl
connection while he's visiting me. It worked fine untill he rebooted
and then when he tried to log on it would not recognize his password.
Tried safe mode and a few other options but my knowledge of win2000
is minimal at best. Any suggestions. Tried to get to a command prompt
but win2000 option is safemode with command prompt. I use to be able
to do regscan/ restore in win98. Kind of at a loss now hoping someone
would have some ideas. Thanks.
I suspect that your brother's laptop is normally connected
to his company's domain-based network. Installing a new
network adapter will not affect any passwords but moving
the machine from a domain environment to a workgroup
environment will break the trust relationship that it used
to have. He now needs to ask his network administrator
for a local account/password.
