RE: Pass Change Issue

Everything appears to be correct on the worstation. We run a single domain.
This appears to happen when she's forced to change her password everyy month.

Hi,

Based on my experience, this issue can occur because :

Users logs onto the workstation with the user account that matches the
outlook account,Tthe client is not logged on to the domain that the
password is changed in. Therefore, the client outlook cannot establish a
remote procedure call (RPC) connection to the Local Security Authority
(LSA) to change the password. That is why the user can log on with the new
password later.

Now, I'd like to check, the client is working properly? Let me know if you
still have questions.

Hi ,

I found following article:

822986 "Your Windows password could not be changed" error message in
Outlook
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;822986

This article applies to Windows 2003 server

However, you post this issue in Windows 2000 queue. Please check the
Exchange server & DC, if they are running Windows Server 2003.

Also, I think following article can help:

Client unable to change Windows NT or Windows 2000 password
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=236111

If the problem still occurs, please let me know:

1. The client OS version
2. The DC&Exchange Version
3. I would suggest you enable logging in Outlook and wait for the issue
to
occur again. The event log should capture any specific error codes that
may
be returned when it happens.

Have a good day.
