I just noticed that the last link I gave you was https, it might not work for you. Here is the content of the article:
Difficulties running ATI TV Player after using Windows Update in Windows XP
This issue affects the ATI TV WONDER and TV WONDER VE when using ATI
Multimedia Center 7.1 under Windows XP.
The following driver update may be detected when using the Windows
Update feature found in Windows XP:
AVerMedia TECHNOLOGIES, Inc - Video
Conexant Media Driver Version 5.2.9.0
After the update the TV Wonder software will not function correctly.
Three possible outcomes will occur.
* TV component of Multimedia Center will change to Video In.
* System will freeze while going through the Autoscan portion of the
Initialization Wizard.
* TV response will be very slow (i.e. changing channels)
Windows Update incorrectly identifies the ATI TV Wonder as an AVerMedia
TV Tuner product. Microsoft has been notified regarding this issue with
Windows Update and is looking into possible solutions. If Windows Update
is used the following component may get installed:
* AVerMedia AVer TV WDM TV Tuner
This issue can be resolved by reloading the proper ATI TV Wonder WDM
drivers.
To correct this issue the following manual driver update must be done in
order for the correct WDM driver to install.
The following steps assume that you have already downloaded and
installed the TV Wonder Multimedia Center 7.1 update. If you have
deleted any of the temporary install files please run the software
installation again.
The ATI Multimedia Center 7.1 software for Windows XP is available for
download from our support website.
* Open Device Manager.
* Right click the "AVerMedia AVer TV WDM TV Tuner" listing and select
the "UPDATE DRIVER".
* Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click
"Next".
* Select "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install" and click
"Next".
* Select the "Have Disk" button, click "Browse". Open the following path:
C:\TVWonderWDMDrivers\
* Highlight the first INF in the list and click "OK" twice.
* Select the ATI WDM device from the list > click Ok.
* A "Replace Existing File" message will appear, ensure that "YES" is
selected and proceed with installation.
* Restart the computer to allow the changes to take effect.
