Pen drive doesn't work

I have nearly 20 win2k pro machines. Some are in domain and some are in
Workgroup. Hardware are ranges 1.6 GHz to 2.4GHz(P4). All machines are
installed with SP4 and updated completely.
My problem is users use different pen drives of different makes. Most
of all systems accepts all pen drives automatically. But in 4 systems
it doesn't. When I insert the pen drive system wil prompt me to install
driver for the same. I will select the path C:\winnt\inf\usbstor.inf .
Then it takes the driver and starts working. Whole day it will accept
the pen drive. When the same drive is used next day it will ask for
driver again!!.
My doubt is drivers are there in the system only. Just I need to give
the path. Why??

Kindly help me out with this. If anyone has come across with this kind
of problem, pls let me know how to solve this issue.
