Perhaps the registry entry for lsass.exe is incorrect. You can
check it here:
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon.
It's supposed to be a type reg_expand_sz value of
%systemroot%\system32\lsass.exe.
You can use this boot disk to reset a forgotten admin
password to a blank:

Yes repair without any problem but when it reboots into windows, whenpartitions
prompting logon it will display that lsass.exe missing and pls boot
into directory restore mode. Even i boot into console mode, it can't
recognise the password. Any idea ?

The usual way to repair a failed installation is to boot the
machine with a Win2000 CD and select "Repair" when
prompted. There is no password challenge when doing this.

I've been reparing not reinstall but still same. It prompted me to
login to directory restore mode, but i can;t login even with correct
password. i think lsass.exe corrupted. Even safe mode command prompt
either. So only way i think is this way. Any other alternative to save
all my AD and other settings ?

Yes, while one OS is inactive none of its files are locked and all
are fully accessible from the other OS. As far as saving its system
state is concerned: AFAIK it comprises the various registry files
and probably some executables too.
I now wonder what you would do with a saved system state. If
you believe that lsass.exe is corrupted then perhaps replacing it
from the other installation will fix the problem.

My system has 2 OSs and i can access windows 2000 server
systemfrom another OS , so i think can copy the windows 2000 server
fromlsass.exedata from there ? If not what can do to save the system state data
since i can;t boot into even safe mode or whatever mode as my
corrupted.

dodualcommand prompt or even access it from another OS ? i mean like
boot/partitons system. Thanks

Daniel
I don't think so but I don't see what dual boot / partitions has
do with it.
