anyone any idea how to compact an oversized \WINNT\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi,

After a reboot I'm seeing all the symptoms outlined in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;306038

I've tried the tricks outlined in that kb article and none work. I'm
about to consider restoring but since I have no idea when this files
was OK that may be a bit tricky.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Jeroen
