I have a user who has an IBM Thinkpad with Windows XP Pro. This user uses the laptop when she's in the corporate office or at home. She is also at an
external location where she has her own office with a workstation running
Windows 2000 pro. She uses VPN to connect to our network.
The problem she's having is that for some type of reason she cannot access
any recent files on her Win2K workstation. She has a good connection to the
network (she can access old files and the company e-mail) and she claims she
is saving her work on the network and not on the local hard drive. She say's
that any work she saves on her laptop with WinXPPro does not show up on her
Win2K workstation. Can it be because they are 2 different O/S versions? If
so, is there any way around it?

Sorry I should have mentioned the laptop was pre-installed with win xp pro... and the coa is for oem windows xp pro, the disc i have to re-install o/s is ...oem xp pro, so yes they are the same version. ... Re: win xp pro on laptops ... If you start with a blank hard drive, it will ask you for the previous version CD (Windows 98 in this case) to be put into the CD drive. ... The driver set is updated very rarely, so if your laptop is newer than the last driver update to the CD, the Windows CD either won't have all the drivers, or will have only very old ones. ...
