Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Try disabling auto-discovery on the XP workstations:
http://is-it-true.org/nt/xp/atips/atips23.shtml

You might also try disabling the Webclient service on the workstations
unless you need access to WebDAV shares on a web server or intranet portal.
