RE: ISO Utility for Folder Updates in Win2000

Hi Steven,

Thanks for your post.

I understand your concern is that after update a file in Windows 2000, the
timestamp of the folder which contains the updated file cannot refresh to
the latest date. Therefore, you want to find a utility in Win2k to fulfill
the function. If I have misunderstood, please feel free to let me know.

I have tried your description under Windows 2000 Professional system.
However, I cannot reproduce your problem on my side and based on my
experience, Windows 2000 has this function by design. I have performed
the following test steps and please help me confirm if my steps are
correctly:

1. Create a new folder called test
2. Use details method (Choose View-> details in Window Explorer) to view
the folder and we can see the modified date of this folder under "date
modified" property.
3. Create a new 1.txt file under the test folder
4. Check the "date modified" property of test folder, it has been changed
to the date which is same as 1.txt file's "date modified"
5. Change the content in 1.txt file and save it
6. Check the "date modified" property of this folder, it has been changed
to the date which is same as 1.txt file's "date modified"
7. Delete the 1.txt file
8. Check the "date modified" property of test folder, it has been changed
to the date when 1.txt file was deleted

Please take your time and patience in confirming the above steps. If the
issue still persists on your side, please help me catch screen shots on
both the date of the modified file and the "date modified" of the folder
which contains the file so that we can perform further research on this
issue. Anything update, please keep in touch.

Thanks & Regards
