Hi Stephen,
Try this. Boot into the safe mode. Got to c:\winnt\system32 folder. Rename
the file Advapi32.dll to Advapi32.dl_. Either extract this file from the
windows 2000 cd and put it in the same location or copy this file from
another win2k machine with the same service pack level. Do this in the safe
mode as windows file protection won't come into play in the safe mode and
PLEASE DO NOT DELETE THE PREVIOUS ADVAPI32.DLL FILE.JUST RENAME IT.
