Problem compressing old files

When I do a disk cleanup in Win2000 Pro, (while it's
calculating space to save) it takes a very long time in
the "compressing old files" step. What flag/switch can I
turn off, so Windows doesn't even try to compress old
files? Where do I find that option? Thanks!
