windows 2000 professional problem, not sure

think got it with something bad, anyhow reformatted the entire pc but cant
resolve the issue.
Problem is I can't use the 'w' key in browsing or in chat session or in
microsoft word nor excel, its frustrating and worst the system automatically
goes on typing like this 'wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww' until i use the backspace
key.

think its a bug, but can't remove it. Any input will be appreciated.
