I suggest you dig a little deeper in order to determine if the
problem is caused by Windows or by your application. Here is
what you could do:
1. Copy c:\windows\system32\notepad.exe to the folder where
PowaMaster resides.
2. Rename the new version of notepad.exe to "A Basic Notepad.exe"
3. Invoke the new version in the same way as you invoke PowaMaster,
then examine its process name. Do you see the long name or the
8.3 name?
4. Invoke the new version by its 8.3 name, then examine its process
name. Do you see the long name or the 8.3 name?
The results are likely to give you some leads about what is going on.
