While it may not help, I had a couple XP computers that were doing that.
I tried for months to fix them. I could duplicate the problem on those
machines just by opening Outlook, Word, Excel and boom, the machine
would reboot - like a power cycle. I changed all hardware, installed a
new computer, etc.... Nothing was the same on those two stations (even
new stations). As it turns out it was a corrupt profile. Deleted it and
recreated it and the problem went away.
