What brand modems? Have you tried using HyperTerminal
(Accessories/Communication/Hyperterminal)? Just open it up, create a
connection to your port. Try typing in AT<ENTER> (you may not see it on-
screen) and see if you get an OK back. Have you tried different cables?
Are the serial port(s) built into the motherboard backplane, or on a
bracket you have to run cables to?
