The CD says 98 or 2000. It worked fine in the preivous install. What
intrigues me is being unable to permanently delete the devices so
Windows might find the right one.

About what I've concluded myself. Now to find out how to get rid of
it. Possibly that botched install messed up the driver database or
something.
