After installing this Security Update through our SUS
server, we started having an outbreak of workstations
getting an 'unexpected kernel mode trap' error and were
caught in a loop of rebooting, initializing windows 2000,
trap message, rebooting, etc.

I made DELL aware of this as it only seemed to affect our
older model DELLs (i.e. Optiplex GX1, GX110, GX150) and
not our newer models (i.e. Optiplex GX240, GX270). All
models had the same os, service packs, hotfixes,
applications, etc. before this security update was
installed.

So far our only fix is to reboot into Safe Mode, go to
Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel, and uninstall
KB840987. Has anyone else run into this yet? Is there a
better fix?
