Explorer .exe right pane problem

Running win2K pro. Windows explorer will not launch or open anything in the
right pane. I also cannot open folders on my desktop with explorer, nor will
an explorer shortcut launch from the desk top. This only happens on one user
account, the other user accounts on this machine function fine as far
windows explorer goes. TIA
