CRC - Cyclical Redundancy Checks.
Basically it is a type of algorithm to make sure the data on a disk or other media (or other
types) is in tact and not bastardized.

If it is business related "stuff" your friend *must* create backups of the important data.
You know the old saying -- An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

| Thanks, I will try this and see what happens.
|
| Wish I knew more about CRC errors. Seems when you get one the file is
| totally locked up. This poor person I'm talking about has 15meg worth of
| emails in that file and she can't get to them now. This is all business
| related stuff so she's upset!
