My win 2000 laptop has been "hanging" often while in use for about an hour.
I checked the event viewer and found multiple listings of the same errors
and warnings that i do not understand.

1. Error: event ID: 10010, source listed as DCOM "The server did not
register with DCOM within the required timeout".
2. The warnings: event ID: 6, source listed as "Itmodem5" "The description
of event cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary
registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote
computer." Then it offers a series of numerical figures as part of the
event.
3. Warning: event 11050 source: DNS cache
"The DNS Client SErvice could not contact any DNS servers for a repeated
number of attempts. For the next 30 seconds the DNS client service will not
use the network to avoid further network performance problems. It will
resume its normal behavior after that. If the problem persists verify your
TCP/IP configuration, specifically check that you have a preferred (and
possibly an alternate) DNS server configured. If the problem continues
verify network conditions to these DNS servers or contact . your network
administrator."

I did a Google search for these events and was not able to understand the
information provided except that it might have something to do with the
network card that connects me to my IP". Is that accurate?I do not know how
to "verify myTCP/IP configuration" suggested in the event viewer
description. My laptop is connected through a PCI card to my desktop
SBC/Yahoo DSL router system. I have ZA free, version 3.71 installed as well
as NAV. Can someone help me with this, please?
Thanks, Josie
