Hi,
Been suffering from this problem that others in various news groups
have suffered from. I have just noticed what causes it for me -
I run synergy (http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/) with the 2 windows
2000 boxes on my desk at work. My main machine runs as the server.
When the other machine boots, it connects, and I move the mouse across
to the client and alt-ctrl-del to log in. This however also makes the
server go to the screen with the 6 buttons where you can lock etc. So
i hit escape, make sure the mouse is back on the client, and log in.
Now the server has the problem (explorer and start menu and launchpad
all go useless). I have just noticed that this is the cause, and I've
just noticed that hitting alt-ctrl-del and then esc on the server
sorts it out.
Now I know this is pretty specific to me, but thought I'd mention it
in case it helps anyone else out or even gives someone some
inspiration to work out why they get the problem, coz it can be pretty
annoying :-)
