Installing problem

Hi I have a machine that I'm trying to reinstall Windows 2000 pro.(because Can't login). When trying to install it gives me an error about the ACPI BIOS. I looked for updates for the motherbroad But I have the newest one. The person that installed windows 2000 pro before said that there was a work around he thought that it was a key that you pushed when it was first installing. Does anyone know?
