See if you can get logged on by using Administrator as user but enter nothing for the password. If that doesn't work ask the people that fixed the machine if they ever logged into the operating system. If not then try to bring the harddrive with your files into your machine that works as an extra harddrive (not one you boot from) and transfer the files from there elsewhere.
