svchost.exe

I receive the following error messages when ever IE has been open for
several minutes:

The instruction at 0xe0853a68 referenced memory at 0xe0853a68. The memory
could not be read.

followed by....

The instruction at 0x77d3a147 referenced memory at 0xa4c2cdf4. The memory
could not be read.

These errors seem to be generated via svchost.exe.

Is this a virus infection ?? even though I ensure that my firewall and
Antivirus engines are up to date (McAfee Guardian v3 and VirusScan v4.5.1).
