I have Windows 2000 Server running on RAID 5 with Adaptec controller. I expanded the array adding additional hard drives with the Adaptec RAID Manager. The next step, according to Adaptec, is to use Disk Administrator to expand the volume.
I am currently working with Basic disks, and to expand the volumes I need to convert to Dynamic Disks.
My concern is whether or not this can be done safely on the system volume which is part of the RAID 5 set. When I choose to convert the disk fro basic to dynamic i get the following warning: Once you upgrade these disks to dynamic, you will not be able to boot previous versions of Windows from any volumes on these disks.
I am ussuming that this refers to a dual boot enviroment, and is not referring to the Windows 200 server installation residing on the RAID 5, and I just want to confirm this.
Thanks,
Rick
