Hi, I did a CHKDSK on my C:\ drive (1st Partition)
It says it has 8 bad sectors on it. What steps do I, or
can I take to correct and fix these bad sectors on my
primary partition (1) c:\ drive to correct this error.

C:\>CHKDSK
The type of the file system is NTFS.

When I imply the ( CHKDSK /F ) it does not fix the problem.
I even restated the server and let the operating system
try to fix the problem that way. And it does not ( even by
trying several times ).

("I wish Microsoft would make a special tool for this")

I removed the Hardrive from the 1st server and placed it
as a slave on the second server (with the same OS
installed "Windows 2000 Pro") Then i tryed to do the same
task ( CHKDSK /F ), and it still wont fix the problem.

Also, when i tryed on the 1st server with this drive
mounted and windows running, to do a "Defrag Procedure",
It goes until a certain point, then it makes my OS Re-Boot
into a ( BSOD Screen ) as it starts to count up.

NOTE: If i make a image of the drive, will it take the bad
sectors with it.
Is it software based or Hardware based error??
Also, are there any partucular software to fix this,
Such as Norton ect. ect.

problem. dj1newyork@aol.com
