Annoying pink colour in descriptive labels

When I place the mouse cursor over an icon in the taskbar,
I get an annoying flickering pink colour in the
resulting 'pop-up' descriptive label instead of the usual
yellow. This seems to have started after I installed Nero
burning program. I have tried display settings with no
luck. Also playing mpeg and wmv clips I get flickering
pink where there should be a bright white area. Any ideas?
