DPMS mode is "Display Power Manager Signalling mode". DPMS is a VESA
standard (based on the EPA energy star spec) for CRT monitor power
management. The message is probably being returned by your video card. If
you can't disable the message through your video card software...don't
worry too much about it, it's not an error message.
