You can boot from a Windows 98SE boot floppy [make sure that your BIOS has
A: as the first boot device] and then call FDISK to delete the existing
partition then call Windows 2000 setup from the CD and use the text based
portion of setup [the blue screen, plain text part at the beginning] to
create and format the partitions. You can also boot from the Windows 2000
CD-ROM and delete/create your partitions [skipping FDISK altogether] from
the same text based portion of setup.

This will give you a 'clean slate' in which to rebuild your box.
