I have also had problems with KB835732. On one machine it broke the sound
(Sound Max on a ASUS P4P800 board) causing it to load slowly and diverting
some of the system event sounds (such as "chord") from the sound system to
the system speaker as a beep. On another, it broke the ability to bring up
the list of partitions under the save as dialog. In both cases, I restored
images made before the updates, applied each "fix" until they broke again.
KB835732 was the culprit. It is not now applied to either of the effected
machines. I have one more Win 2000 and one Win ME unit to update. I'll
probably not apply it to them.
