I've seen this happen many times with motherboards that aren't fully ACPI
compatible. Very early in the install process you'll see a message at the
bottom of a blue screen asking you to "Hit F6 to load additional drivers" or
something very like that. When you see the message, hit the F7 key <--- not
a typo. This will force Windows to install using a non-ACPI HAL. Windows
install will NOT acknowledge the F7 key interactively in any way, but will
install a HAL more compatible with your motherboard. Watch for it and be
quick about it, you won't have much time to hit the F7 key.

went through the time zone and keyboard selection process, it rebooted
again but this time it hangs at the windows logo, (with the blue status bar
at the bottom) so i tried a full clean install, but the same happened again,
i tried a fresh install on 'two other' hard drives but it continues to hang
at the same point! It leads me two think it is a hardware problem as ive
tried 3 hard drives with fresh installs, has anyone else had this problem?
please help!
