Firstly, if the PC will run in safe mode for a good period of time without
crashing, and not in normal mode, this is because a lot of the devices
aren't loaded i.e. your video drivers, network drivers, audio drivers, etc.
These 3 are pretty usual suspects for BSOD's. So, first thing, check event
viewer to see if there are any tell tale messages about which thing does not
start up, or is throwing errors. Then, update all your drivers. Also disable
your virus checker and see if that stops it. If it does, remove it and try a
different one (never run two at once). Or, selectively remove any additional
components you may be running one by one until it works, until you isolate
what piece of hardware is failing.

When you say "most recent updates" does that mean most of the recent
updates, or you have installed THE most recent updates? Whichever way, also
ensure you are patched to the hilt. After all, you are running windows ;-)
