Just because your user account is gone doesn't mean you can't access the
software on your laptop. Any profile with decent priveledges should be able
to run the software. As for your files, an account on the laptop with
administrator permissions will be able to either access the folders or take
ownership of the folders and then change the permissions on the files.

Alternatively, boot your laptop off a Knoppix CD and copy your files to an
external USB drive.
