Hi All,
I have this strange problem.
I have setup a Distributed File System in one of our servers. Let's call it
Server1 and is running Windows 2003 Enterprise.
In the DFS, there are 2 links, Forms and Software. These 2 folders actually
resides in one of the NAS, running Windows 2000.
I have 2 Windows XP Professional setup. When one of them is setup, it is
joined to the domain during XP installation. So when I try to access
\\Server1\DFS\Software, the resource can be access. Note that the folder DFS
is reside in Server1.
On the 2nd XP, it is join to the domain after the XP installaiton complete.
When I try to access the same resource \\Server1\DFS\Software, it says
"\\Server1\DFS\Software not accessible. You might not have permission to use
the network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions. Access is denied." When I try to access
\\Server1\DFS\, both forms and software folder can be displayed, but not
beyond that.
I noticed that if XP try to access a Windows 2003 server resource, there is
no problem. Once the server is a Windows 2000, the problem will be
encountered. Windows 2000 Professional has no problem accessing both Windows
2003 and Windows 2000 resource.
I have looked through the intenet and try to use this command, netsh int ip
reset c:\resetlog.txt and does not help.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
