I suspect you're not really copying but you have some
application (e.g. Word, Excel) open and you're using
the "Save as" function. The result is that your file is
still open, and the floppy disk is in an undetermined
state.
It is not a good idea to open files on removable media.
Copy them to the hard disk before opening them, then
copy them back to the floppy disk when finished, making
sure that you close the application BEFORE you copy
the file.
