missing file on floppy disk

Hi experts,

I have this strange problem which just surfaced. I copy a
file from my PC to a floppy disk. I can read and use this
file when I use the floppy disk on my laptop. However,
when I copy a file from laptop to PC using the same floppy
disk to transfer, the file that I copied from laptop is
GONE ! The file originally copied from PC is still on the
floppy. This happens for any file copied from laptop to PC
via the floppy disk and tests using different floppy disks
gave same result.... Any ideas, people ? Both laptop and
PC are running Win2k Prof.
